FOSTER

Thank you for your interest in fostering with Save Our Strays Fort Bend.  This is a very important aspect of our program and allows our organization to pull animals out of Fort Bend County Animal Control before their 3-day mandatory wait period is up, otherwise they face certain euthanization if they are not claimed by their owner or adopted by someone else through the shelter during this mandatory 3-day wait period.  

By becoming a foster parent to these animals, you are providing a safe haven until they can be adopted into loving and responsible homes.  It is their "second chance" and sometimes their only chance of survival outside of the shelter.  

Save Our Strays Fort Bend will work with you to find the foster animals in our program new homes by holding adoption events, posting them to our website and overseeing the adoption process.  We ask that our fosters provide the basic necessities, in addition to a healthy dose of love, attention, socialization, a nice place to sleep and asks that you help transport your fosters to our adoption events and provide medical care, if necessary.  If we are financially able, we will pay for any vet fees, but you may make a tax-deductible donation to cover any necessay medical costs.

It is highly possible that you will fall in love with your foster and ultimately want to keep it as your own.  We will allow this and you can go through our adoption process, but please keep in mind that as a foster, you will be able to save more lives if we can adopt out to another and you are able to foster another animal in need.

Once you fill out and return this application to us, a representative of our organization will review and upon approval, will contact you and arange a meeting to go over our fostering guidelines and then match you with an appropriate animal in need.
